When You Can Fly

Generally, you should wait to fly until after you have had your first postoperative visit with your surgeon.

  • Remember that in the airport terminal, you may not have the stamina to walk as fast or far as you did before the surgery.
  • Also remember that you cannot carry anything heavier than 10 pounds for the first six weeks after the surgery, so you'll have to arrange for your heavier bags to be carried by someone else.
